DFA says 80% of Filipinos in Gaza Strip already evacuated


Over 80 percent of Filipinos in the Gaza Strip have already left the besieged area, said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

MANILA, Philippines — Over 80 % of Filipinos within the Gaza Strip have already left the besieged space, stated the Division of Overseas Affairs (DFA). 

In a textual content message to INQUIRER.internet, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega stated 26 Filipinos are left within the space, together with one nun. 

“[B]ut they appear decided to stay,” stated de Vega. 

In keeping with the international affairs official, the most recent batch of 14 Filipino nationals who crossed the Rafah border into Egypt, together with 5 Palestinian spouses, will likely be leaving Cairo on Monday. 

“So that they shall be arriving [on] Tuesday, [November 14 in] Manila. Included among the many 14 are at the least three kids plus one newly-born toddler,” stated de Vega. 

He likewise defined that 13 Filipino nationals crossed the Rafay border on Sunday.
